Early Life

Robert Hunter Biden was born on February 4, 1970, in  Wilmington, Delaware, and is the second son of Joe Biden and Neilia Biden.  In 1972, Hunter Biden’s mom and younger sister were killed in a car crash while both Biden and his older brother Beau sustained severe injuries but they survived.

Hunter had a fractured skull and severe traumatic brain injuries, while Beau suffered multiple broken bones. Both spent several months in the hospital before their father was sworn in as a member of the United States Senate.  Hunter and Beau eventually convinced their father to remarry, and Jill Jacobs became their stepmother in 1977.

Biden, like his father and brother, attended Archmere Academy, a Catholic high school in Claymont, Delaware.

The year following his college graduation, he worked as a Jesuit volunteer at a church in Portland, where he met Kathleen Buhle, whom he married in 1993.

Early Career

After completing law school in 1996, Biden embraced a consultant position at MBNA, a bank holding company whose employees helped contribute more than $200,000 to Joe Biden’s Senate campaigns.

The hiring of Biden by MBNA was controversial because his father had pushed for credit card legislation that profited from the credit card industry and was supported by MBNA during Biden’s tenure at the bank.

The laptop comprised an email describing what the New York Post described as a “meeting” between Joe Biden and Vadym Pozharskyi,  in 2015, though witnesses questioned that characterization.

Most mainstream media outlets, analysts, and intelligence agencies questioned the article’s veracity, citing the unidentified chain of custody of the laptop and its contents, as well as doubts that it was part of a Russian disinformation campaign.
